PROJECT: Drug Prevention Programme – Family UNited, Mauritius

77 Lives impacted

Objective: Strengthen family skills to prevent youth drug abuse From 4 July to 29 September 2025, the Dr. Idrice Goomany Treatment Centre delivered 48 sessions of the Family UNited Programme across four high-risk Port Louis regions–Vallée Pitot, Plaine Verte, Cité La Cure, and Cité Valleejee. Working with local community organisations to recruit participants, the programme engaged 37 parents/ carers and 40 children, providing practical tools to strengthen family relationships and prevent substance abuse. Participant feedback at the conclusion of the sessions showed strong appreciation for both content and delivery. In parallel, a two-day training workshop for 13 prospective social workers was held at the Centre’s headquarters to expand the programme’s reach and ensure sustainable implementation.

PROJECT: Association d’Alphabétisation de Fatima – Ecole Fatima

157 Lives impacted

Objective: Enhance educational facilities and life skills Ecole Fatima, established in 1989 by the Association d’Alphabétisation de Fatima, provides basic education and life skills to disadvantaged children, helping them build confidence and integrate into society. The school operates across a pre-primary school in Cité Mère-Theresa (25 students), a literacy school in Trou-aux-Biches (103 students), and a pre-vocational school in Trou-aux-Biches (29 students). Cim Finance’s support focused on renovating a music room with paint, wood, and electrical equipment to accommodate all instruments, and providing materials for cooking classes. These contributions enhance the learning environment and broaden practical skill development for the children.

PROJECT: Fondation Cours Jeanne D’Arc (FCJD) – St Patrick’s School

85+ Students Impacted

Objective: Vocational opportunities for students with special needs St Patrick’s Primary School, managed by FCJD, serves both mainstream students (Grades 1–6) and children with special needs across seven Special Education Needs (SEN) classes. The school provides students in the final SEN class (aged 14–18) with practical training in areas such as craftsmanship, hairdressing, cooking, hospitality, and mechanics, preparing them for future careers. To meet rising demand, the school plans to build additional classrooms. Half the funds have been raised, with the remainder supported by CSR contributions, including from Cim Finance. The school currently accommodates around 85 students and aims to welcome 40–50 new students starting January 2026, including children from disadvantaged backgrounds, expanding opportunities for inclusion and skill development.
