PROJECT: Drug Prevention Programme – Family UNited, Rodrigues
Objective: Build youth resilience and reduce drug abuse Cim Finance worked closely with the Commission for Youth, a department of the Rodrigues Regional Assembly (RRA) responsible for youth, sports, arts, culture, and heritage, to implement the Family UNited drug prevention training programme. The Commission, which runs initiatives including a youth club for open dialogue and self-expression, saw the urgent need to tackle drug abuse among youth. Cim Finance’s contribution focused on equipping social workers from the Commission for Youth (30 participants) and the Commission for Women’s Affairs and Others (around 20 participants) with practical tools and strategies to prevent drug abuse, build life skills, and promote healthy choices. Training took place at Mourouk Hotel in Rodrigues in a supportive environment, with meals and coffee breaks provided. Through this programme, Cim Finance and the Commission for Youth strengthened inter-agency collaboration, enhanced community resilience, and helped establish long-term, sustainable prevention strategies tailored to the unique needs of Rodrigues’ youth.

PROJECT: Mont Charlot Community Government School, Rodrigues
47 Lives impacted
Objective: Boost student performance The Rodrigues Regional Assembly, through its Commission for Education, is leaving no stone unturned to boost school and student performance, and ensure every child completes nine years of quality education with meaningful learning outcomes. Cim Finance partnered with the Commission to support Mont Charlot Community Government School, targeting two classes totaling 47 students. The project addresses multiple priorities: strengthening literacy and numeracy, providing professional development for teachers – especially to support lower-performing students – renovating key areas to create a safe and welcoming learning environment, and fostering parental involvement. Cim Finance’s support this past year focused on an after-school programme for Grade 5 and Grade 6 students, offering small-group, personalised attention. Through this hands-on engagement, students received the guidance and resources needed to overcome learning challenges, build foundational skills, and prepare them for both academic success and a brighter future.
